This was the first thing I saw when I woke up this morning and so I decided to write about it.  For those who are not familiar with the Doomsday Clock it is, it is a symbolic clock created in 1947 by some of the scientists who worked on the Manhattan Project to evaluate how close humanity was to it’s own destruction.  

Over the years it has moved beyond examining only nuclear threats to include other man-made threats including chemical, biological, and climate change threats.  For a quick synopsis of the Doomsday Clock and it’s interesting history click here.
