Why is it necessary to write a fifteen to eighteen page paper regarding a topic of no real relavence to either of our lives or society in general? I really don’t think that anyone is going to benefit from my “research” on the creation of vernacular worship in the emergent church and the effects it has had on ones perception of religious studies (at least not beyond page five). That is the problem with modern acadamea! Religious studies at a secular university is only a step away from philosophy; it’s little more than abstract ideas relying heavily on humanistic reasoning to explain the actions of God and to syncrenize all faiths as coming from a single archaic religion!
