As I mentioned yesterday, I was a little concerned about how my legs would be feeling going into another round of squats. They were a little sore, but not nearly as much as I expected. Today’s regimen called for 55 squats – 5 more than yesterday. I started today’s workout with some stretching and a short 1-mile run to warm-up. After I finished my back work it was time for the squats, and to be honest it wasn’t too bad! After about 15 my quads were starting to burn, but in a good way. I tackled them in sets of 10 with about 20 seconds of break time in between. After I finished all 55, I wrapped up with some stretching and a bit of walking on the treadmill.
Overall, it was a good workout. My quads are sore, but it’s not as bad as it has been. Tomorrow I’ll be aiming for 60 and then I’ll have a rest day. I don’t think tomorrow will be too bad either, but I am curious to see how I feel on Friday once I’ve given myself a break.
I don’t know how many people will actually want to read about this challenge, but I will try to post daily on how it’s going and how I’m feeling in order to document the process. I don’t usually write shorter pieces (which maybe I should) but these updates will be short. I hope that you enjoy them, and that it might be an encouragement or motivation to start living a healthier life as well.
